extending jira issue creation from confluence

In confluence there is a macro to create issues from jira. The macro does not allow you to choose to fill in custom fields, for example. Can you tell me if there is a solution to create Jira issues from confluence, and maybe fill in a custom field in the Jira form?

instead of using a the macro, you can also choose to build the link to the issue create form yourself as described in this knowledge base article. The article is about Jira Server/Data Center but it's also valid for Jira Cloud as well.

This solution is a bit technical since it involves dealing with IDs. If you want to find out the ids, the easiest way I know is doing it like that:

• Retrieve the project ID by calling this url in the browser: JIRA_URL/rest/api/3/project/PROJECT_KEY
• Retrieve all the various ids for your fields by calling this url in the browser: JIRA_URL/rest/api/3/issue/createmeta?projectIds=PROJECT_ID&expand=projects.issuetypes.fields
