Including text from an index file

Is it possible to include small extracts of text, easily/quickly, from an index file in a wiki page.

We have a large environment and do not want to hardcode server names into doco pages. instead I want to be able to reference a server name, and it be auto populated.

i.e. "log into the $liveapacheserver ..." and it to be populated with the actually servernames from another file. meaning we can be sure that all documentation will contain the correct server names / endpoints etc.

I can think of a few ways to do this, but the easiest/quickest way might be to use jQuery to replace the variables with product names. jQuery will let you load an external file (say, an XML file or a list of name/value pairs) that you can use to store the values.
