Please note that some, and not all closed issues on our Kanban board go to the 'Released' Tab.
How do we achieve this?

Could you give some more info. What board setup are you using? I'm guessing the standard with todo - in progress- done.
You can release by clicking above the done column on the hyperlink: 'release ...' This gives you a popup to create a new version with releasedate etc, Or even if you have a bamboo instance linked, you could start a release build from here as well.

I am also interested in this topic.
I have defined the columns of our Kanban, including "Done". Now, I want to Release only certain items and there does not seem to be a way to do this.
I have explored Versions under Project Administration, but that does not actually release items off my Kanban.
Any help is appreciated.
