How do I unintegrate a Jira Project and reclaim all associated "integrated user" licenses?

Question

I want to unintegrate some Jira projects from Jira Align and reclaim all the licenses for "integrated users" assuming they're not associated with other currently-integrated products. How do I do this without: a) coding an API, b) querying/scripting the database directly, or c) in the right order to avoid corrupting data? What even happens to the data when I do this?

Steps 1 and 2 are both accomplished from the Admin -> Jira Management.  The first tab shows all the mapped Jira Boards.  Each board is mapped to a Jira Align Team.  Find the team that whose work you no longer require to be synced to Jira Align and use the ellipses to access the "Delete" function.

I believe that the Sync process will continue to try to sync Features, Stories, Defects, Tasks, etc. to Jira Software even with the team no longer be mapped.  This may cause your log files to fill up with warnings.  This can make it cumbersome to monitor and troubleshoot the connector.  You should be able to stop this on the 3rd tab "Jira Deleted Issues". Run the report and only when you are absolutely sure you have identified the work items that you know longer want to sync, "Remove the Jira Key" from those issues.

@Jason Singleton @Jason Singleton The best way to determine who can safely be deactivated is to go the the Admin -> People page and under the More Actions button you should see "export".  This creates an Excel file with each user and the teams to which they below so you can filter that down.  I believe you can edit the spreadsheet and reimported it to deactivate people, but I have not done that myself.  You can also deactivate people directly from the People page.

The export file also shows the last time each registered user logged on.  This is how some organizations "reclaim" license ...just deactivate the people who are not using the tool based on last logon date.
