Announcement Banner for JIRA side - managed by Agents

Hi Experts

JIRA Service Management provides the capability to Agents to manage announcements on Customer portal - is there any way we can do the same for JIRA side - staff side of view - I know admins can do that using default jira announcement banners but how my Service Desk Agents can manager this?

They need to add announcements in case of Outages

Hi Jyoti,

It might be related to the browser cache that is still holding the old announcement banned.

Have you tried to do a hard refresh on your browser right after the announcement banned is updated?

Approach I followed:

1) Created Custom Field - Announcement Banner

2) Created a screen and added above field into that screen

3) Created a workflow status self transition and added this screen - agents can click on the transition and provide input to Announcement Banner field

4) Once Saved - I have created a Custom Listener to update DB table for Announcement

It is working - Banner is shown(Also DB table is updated with new entry) but there is a lag when I hit the transition - it takes some time to refresh the old banner - is there any time lapse defined to refresh banner from DB or moment is is saved in DB - banner is refreshed on screen?

Thank you for reaching out to Atlassian Community!

The Jira announcement banner can only be edited by Jira administrators.

With this said, it’s not possible to allow agents to only edit the announcement banner. If adding them as Jira administrators, they will be able to access all other system configurations.
