Is there a way to fill a custom field and then add another of the same custom field?

When creating a sub task i have a custom field called "immediate cause" - I select a value from a dropdown box. Is there a way to then add another "immediate cause" to the same sub-task, think having a plus sign to keep adding multiple instances of this field

Or use Check Boxes as field type.

That might be a good idea, i have a description that goes with each cause as well that might be a problem, i shall investigate a little. thanks for the idea.

No this is not possible. Why don't you use a multiple select list. So you could select multiple "causes".
