How to find epics for which a story is assigned to me

Question

Hi all, I'm trying to build a query that lists the Epics for which at least one story is assigned to me. In other words I'd like a list of all the Epics on which I'm currently working, because they contain a story that is assigned to me, even if the epic isn't assigned to me.

Hi Daniel, thank you for the suggestion, however I am not an administrator and cannot install the app.

Hi @Frederick Boudreau ,

Standard JQL doesn't easily allow it but the results can be quickly found using our professional indexing service:

* JQL Search Extensions

After you install the app you can simply search:

JIRA DC/SERVER

issue in epicOf("issuetype = Story and assignee=currentUser()")

JIRA CLOUD:

issue in epicsOfChildrenInQuery("issuetype = Story and assignee=currentUser()")

Make sure to check out the documentation for server and cloud.

I hope this helps!

Understood unfortunately out of the box I’m unsure how you could achieve that. I suspect with something like script runner you could however.
