I'm asking for help... need to create a reportSprint #... Story #... TASK xyz... ASSIGNEE ... days in column "In progress"
...thanks in advance
Hi @PattyAlb
You cannot get the Age of WIP (i.e. days in WIP) from out-of-the-box Jira, but you could do these as work-arounds:
project = myProject AND statusCategory = "In Progress" ORDER BY assignee
Best regards,Bill
Hi @PattyAlb ,
It is not possible to get age of WIP with the built-in capabilities of Jira. We developed Status Time app that fulfills your exact requirement. It provides reports on how much time passed in each status. You can group statuses to get WIP age.
Once you enter your working calendar into the app, it takes your working schedule into account too. That is, "In Progress" time of an issue opened on Friday at 5 PM and closed on Monday at 9 AM, will be a few hours rather than 3 days. It has various other reports like assignee time, status entry dates, average/sum reports by any field(eg. average in progress time by project, average cycle time by issue creation month). And all these are available as gadgets on the dashboard too.
If you are looking for a free solution, you can try the limited version Status Time Free. Hope it helps.
Hello @PattyAlb ,
This functionality is not available out of the box. You can try building this with custom fields and some post functions but that will be difficult to build and maintain. And that solution will work only for the issues after now.
In case you are OK with using a marketplace app, our team at OBSS built Time in Status app for this need. It is available for Jira Server, Cloud, and Data Center.
Time in Status allows you to see how much time each issue spent on each status or assigned to each assignee. You can also combine statuses into consolidated columns to see metrics like Ticket Age, Resolution Time, Cycle Time, or Lead Time.
You can calculate averages and sums of those durations grouped by the issue fields or time segments (For example, see the total InProgress time per Epic or average Resolution Time per month).
The app calculates its reports using already existing Jira issue histories so when you install the app, you don't need to add anything to your issue workflows and you can get reports on your past issues as well.
Time in Status reports can be accessed through its own reporting page, dashboard gadgets, and issue view screen tabs. All these options can provide both calculated data tables and charts.
Using Time in Status you can:

Hi PattyAlb
maybe this helps:
then you will at least see the days an issue has been in a column shown by coloured dots
another option would be quick filters based on each of your assignees
ciao
Stefan
As already mentioned in the previous comments, you may consider using some of the Marketplace Jira apps for this task.
If you want to dig deeper in reporting, check out our eazyBI for Jira app. Reporting on sprints, assignees, epics/tasks is an out-of-the-box option there.
Your report, as I imagine it, could look the following:
You would use assignees and issues (epic - parent - sub-task or parent - sub-task hierarchies) in the report rows.
The report is filtered by the ongoing sprint and issue status you are interested in (one or several, I used In Progress and Done).
In columns, I use the measure "Issue days in current status" from the eazyBI Demo account to represent how long the issue has stayed in its current status. Additionally I added issue type and status.
More sprints related reports you can explore in the eazyBI Demo account: https://eazybi.com/accounts/1000/dashboards/5956-sprints-overview,
