We recently upgraded JIRA from 6.1.6 to 6.3.15. The process mentioned below had been working correctly for over a year and we have only seen this problem since the upgrade.
We have a transition in our workflow that creates several subtasks automatically. We are not having a problem with the creation of the sub-tasks, they are all working just fine. The problem is, when you view the Parent issue, there are no sub-tasks showing. I also tried running a filter that essentially said "Show me all sub tasks for this Parent Issue" and it did not return any results. On the other side, if you are viewing a sub-task, it does show the correct Parent issue in the Issue Address.
What makes this really odd is that the sub-tasks will suddenly appear after a certain amount of time, but that time frame seems to have ranged anywhere from one hour to over four hours. I know there have been many improvements/changes to the way Jira caches information and this is behavior that if was seen in another context, might relate to a caching problem.
The question that I have is, if this is cache related, is there a way to update/flush the cache through the script in the same way that we can re-index the issues in the script? Also, has anyone else seen a similar behavior in one of the newer versions of Jira?
