Jira REST API: problem with "add"ing a component

I am using the latest api version on jira.atlassian.com.

When I do a set everything works fine, but if I do an add I get an error:

on atlassian site: updating TST-30916

{'update': {'components': {'set': {'id': '10371'} } }}

but doing a:

{'update': {'components': {'add': {'id': '10240'} } }}

results in:

errorMessages: ,

errors: {

components: Field 'components' cannot be set. It is not on the appropriate screen, or unknown.

}

}

It also doesn't work if I use the 'name' vs. the 'id'

I am not sure as to the actual version of atlassian's site, so am putting 5.02

Is components on the list of available fields when you issue a editmeta request. You may have removed Components from the default edit screen
