How to Add validation rules to a custom field?

I have a custom field which should accept values in the format 'TST1234'. i.e. first 3 characters should be 'TST' followed by 4 digit numeric value. How do I add validation rules to a custom field to prevent users entering values in any other format?

Hi Rajesh,

It appears that you want to add a Regular Expression validation to a custom field.
This is currently not possible with JIRA out of the box, but I believe this may be achieved using third party plugins, such as the ones below:
- Kepler Custom Fields
- Unique Regex Custom Field (not available for JIRA 6.2+)
