How to see connection between a comment and the attached document/picture

We use the email interface in JIRA allowing our customers to mail. When they attached either pictures/files, they are recorded as attachments, but the releation between the mail body (comment) and the picture/file is lost.

Is there any way, that you can see this relation. The best would obviously be, that the picture was shown in the comment in the right context.

The short answer is no, comments are collections on an issues, as are attachments. There is no direct relationship between attachments or comments.

You could view the history tab and see when a comment was added and if it was next to an attachment.

For email interactions: Related to inline images, JEMH 1.3.28 can now automatically inject relavent wiki markup for inline rendering of attached images.

If you just want a way to know what files were uploaded against a comment, JEMH can also provide links to non-image files as a comment 'footer'.
