Spaces List

Essentially what we want to do is render a dynamic list of all the spaces in a single category.  Basically the Spaces List Macro, but without the option (drop down list) to change the category. Also, without the header text and label for the drop down list. So just a title and the dynamic list of spaces from the specified category. Is there a way to achieve this?

It's not a perfect solution, but you can use the Search Results macro.  Simply put "labelText:spacecategory" in the search terms box, where spacecategory is the name of the space category you want to display, and choose "spacedesc" under content type.

If you want to hide the heading where it shows the number of results and search query, you will have to use javascript, either in a user macro or in the HTML macro:
