How can I maintain items with a unique identifier (uid / id)?

Hello experts,

We have the following challenge:

We want to maintain message texts (in different languages) for our application in confluence and maintain unique message keys for the messages.

I was not able to find something like a uid-generator add-on for confluence.

Another option would be using JIRA issues, but then again I dont want the issues to spoil my Backlog and Process.

Any ideas and help is appreciated. Thanks.

Each page has a unique page id, have you tried using this as your id?

Or you can use some plugins like Scaffolding? But here you need to "generate" your own ids by hand, nothing automated.

Or, when you are using JIRA, use a new project and/or a new issue type.
