Send mail on ticket progress

Hello,

we are using Jira for the development team to open and manage tickets.

I want to be able to connect a person who requested a development to the ticket, and every time there is a progress of the ticket, to send a notification to the person.

Is it possible?

Is that person a part of your Jira or not? Does it have an account on your instance?
