Server ID changing

We have installed Confluence on a VirtualBox VM, but each time the VM is restarted the server ID changes.

1) Is there a way to stop the ID changing?

2) How do I change the server ID for the Confluence licence?

Re-install did fix this, but we do not know why.

Hi Graham,

Are you deploying Confluence each time you startup the VM? Otherwise I don't believe the Server ID should be changing once it's been generated and set. However, you can read about setting the Server ID in this document: https://confluence.atlassian.com/display/CONFKB/How+to+Change+the+Server+ID+of+Confluence

This was fixed by re-installing everything. Unfortunately we did not determine what is different now and why it did not work before.
