In Agile boards, you can move them between columns, and determine the order if there's more than one status in a column. For simple Core boards, no, you can't reorder them yet.
So then my board in the Business Task Management has to go Todo to Done to In Progress?
Not very useful for all my actual statuses to be after Done.
If your Statuses are out of order on the New JIRA Core Boards, you need to edit your workflow, remove the statuses and transitions, and create them again, in the correct order.
There is no re-ordering of columns yet in the NEW BETA JIRA Core Boards.

We have listened to your feedback and request.
Core Boards now allow the column to be re-ordered Directly on the board itself!
If you are an admin, press and hold the column title, and drag it to the desired position.
