Cannot "Add Space"

Jeff Galbraith

When we try to Add Space we get a Page Not Found error. The log file contains the following:

2012-07-17 08:58:58,775 INFO main com.atlassian.confluence.lifecycle init Confluence is ready to serve

2012-07-17 09:00:25,926 ERROR http-8090-3 atlassian.confluence.servlet.ConfluenceServletDispatcher serviceAction There is no Action mapped for namespace /confluence/spaces and action name createspace

-- referer: http://our-server:8090/spaces/createspace-start.action | url: /confluence/spaces/createspace.action | userName: ********

I just upgraded to 4.2.8 but we also had this issue in 4.2.3 (I believe that was our previous version).

Double check if your server base URL is set accordingly as how you access Confluence.

Septa's answer worked for me

I have a similiar problem, but we are using On Demand. Confluence will not allow me to create any new spaces, and instead presents me with a "Page cannot be found" message.

I am an Admin.

Any ideas?

Workaround

Turn off the default space logo in Confluence Admin -> Default Space Logo (the URL should behttps://example.atlassian.net/wiki/admin/configuredefaultspacelogo.action). This will allow spaces to be created.

Dimitry's workaround worked for me. Looks like a bug!

Same here - tried Dimitry's work around and it fixed it. Definite and strange bug. Thanks, Dimitry

Yeah, you're right. This is a bug that was introduced on the latest OnDemand upgrades and it's currently being tracked here - https://jira.atlassian.com/browse/CONF-29865. The report says that it is fixed, however please note that the fix was not rolled out yet.

Same issue I encounter on create a new space. Is there any resolution on this?
