I can't find JMX metrics through Prometheus Exporter for Jira.

Hello,

We use Prometheus exporter plug-in in Jira to monitor and collect metrics of Jira services.  But we can't find JMX metrics(example - jira_jmx_request_num_in_last_ten_seconds), it is missing.

We have tried with a few versions, however, it is not populating the jmx metrics in our Prometheus application.

Can you please let us know if we need to enable any additional settings or which version of Prometheus plug-in support jmx metrics ?

The metrics you are mentioning are mbeans in the JVM. Prometheus for Confluence app can pull those mbeans but Prometheus for Jira can not do it (it is not implemented in Prometheus for Jira app).

That is why you can create a feature request for Prometheus for Jira app or use JMX exporter.

We had tried with Prometheus exporter plug-in for Jira and Confluence.
Confluence looks OK. Please see the attached pictures. But, it is not working for Jira. Note: JMX is enabled In Jira, go to Administration ( ) > System > JMX monitoring. Toggle Enable JMX monitoring.

Confluence metrics:

No Jira JMX metrics.

There is no data-centre compatible version of prometheus-exporter-pro-for-jira plugin available for Jira7.X version, we needed to use the current server version(1.0.31-jira7) till we upgrade to jira8.X. But that did not help us in any way.

Do you have any suggestion?
