How to create a report for severity per year

I want to create a report where I want to compare the number of critical showstopper or high jira tickets between years i.e 2018 , 2019 , 2020

Please do the needful. I am stuck with this for couple of days now. 

 I created data plane report using issue by date. But the number of jira issues are summing up every year. Please help me

Hi Deepthi, welcome to the Community. There are different ways to accomplish this. However, if this is something you will do regularly I would suggest the following approach.

1. Create a custom field (maybe called "creation year") that is a number field. Use some form of scripting to populate based upon the creation date. 
2. Use a dashboard and the 2-dimensional gadget to display "creation year" vs the priority/severity. You could also consider a pie chart for the creation field and use a filter that is defined by "critical showestopper or high"

the other thing I would likely do, given you are looking at annual comparison would be to leverage Excel to create the desire chart. In fact this is likely my first choice here.
