What is the best way to create multiple sub-tasks, one for each value in multiple custom fields

I need to create multiple sub-tasks using script runner in groovy language, one for each value in the custom fields of an issue created. For example

I imported an issue from excel and it has 4 custom fields values. So when the issue is imported and created, I need to trigger a listener to create 4 sub-tasks for those 4 custom fields.

So what is the best way to trigger a listener for creating multiple subtasks for a single issue using a groovy script in script runner?

I would suggest you to go with custom script post-function, where you can get values of each custom field and if the fields holds value then create new sub-task else ignore it

most importantly need to place the function after create issue originally post-function

Scriptrunner has a build in script to create a sub-task. Placing some Groovy code in the Additional issue actions field allows you to ... well, do anything Groovy can do. Cheers!

Yes, even I am aware of that but how do I create multiple sub-tasks for a single issue at a time. The built-in script will only create one subtask at a time. So can you please elaborate on what you said?

Hi Aditya,

You put multiple sub-task creating post functions on a transition in order to create multiple sub-tasks at one time. Groovy is the language of Tomcat, it's powerful. Cheers!
