How to setup SSL certificate for HTTPS?

I tried following this guide:

however if I try to open the site using https I get the following error: SSL_ERROR_RX_RECORD_TOO_LONG

I'm using a certificate generated by our own Certificate Authority and have imported the certificate into the Keystore, however it still doesn't work.

Can you please assist?
