Is there a way to break down stories even further?

Hello, I need some help to know if these asks are possible. I am helping to set up a Jira launch and one of the managers is asking for some more details when it comes to monitoring, and reporting.

* The ability for the App Manager to update status at a more granular level than the current options of not started, in progress, and done* Other options could include monitor/control, on hold, completed on time, completed late, and rejected.
* This would need to be captured in a way that could allow it to be reported on in straightforward fashion

* The ability for the App Manager to mark a story as red, yellow, or green based on how it is progressing towards completion* This would need to be captured in a way that could allow it to be reported on in straightforward fashion

* The ability for the App Manager to capture a few sentences on risks/issues associated with an issues marked as red or yellow
* The ability for the App Manager to capture a few sentences on a Back2Green plan for issues marked as red or yellow
* The ability for the App Manager to capture the Portfolio Owner associated with an issue* This would need to be captured in a way that could allow it to be reported on in straightforward fashion

* The ability for the App Manager to capture the HR Manager associated with an issue* This would need to be captured in a way that could allow it to be reported on in straightforward fashion

7. The ability for the App Manager to capture categories associated with the issue using a drop down to avoid user error associated with free text

To clarify about the app manager:

So for example, if there was a request to attest that all the metadata associated with my app in appone is correct, as an App Mgr I would view that request as a story and may need to update risks/issues associated with completing that request

I have some follow up question if you could help me with Nic:

* When using the filter tied to the central board on satellite boards, it transfers the satellite boards to our central board. Can we prevent this?
* Can we set a filter to show stories in a kanban board ordered based on due date?
* Can stories that hit an App Mgrs Kanban board be easily exposed to another board used by their Agile team?* For example, an App Manager receives an AppOne Certification story in their board and with some easy steps they would be able to expose the same story in another board they use.

Edit the workflows.  Your admins will have to do that.  Part of their job is to help you work in the best way you can, but another part is also to prevent a mess being made by people demanding to do randomly complex and inefficient things.  If you want changes,  sometimes you'll need to take them to the company to justify why it's an improvement.

Thank you Nic,

1. How do I set up those maps inside of Jira? Our company has limited out project boards to very minimal things, and if we want to have anything created or used, we have to submit a ticket to the Admins to get approval for it, and sometimes they shoot it back saying the company doesn't want to use it.

2. I know that I can setup the colour of card laysout based on issue type and other options, but how woudl I add a custom field? I am not familiar with those setups.

4-7 Again for those options to be added to our project board configuration we woudl need to submit tickets to the Adminsitration to allow them to be used. But I do appreciate the incite on all of these!
