Restoring data takes over 20 minutes

I moved from a local DB to an external DB, which works fine. But importing the old data is running (imported 100% of the items) but it is stuck at 90% total. Already 20 minutes busy.

Browsing to the root of jira gives IP/secure/errors.jsp (but keeps loading, so no text).

Can I kill the process and should it be good? Or will that cause more errors?

I'd leave it for another 20 minutes. The %age progression is not linear, the first 20% is for xml parsing, then 80% for import and indexing issues, 5% for indexing filters and so on, last 10% for restarting internally. Very approximately.

If after another 20 minutes it's still dead, try killing it. If it comes up ok and works fine, good, if not you will have to retry the import. If it fails again, post the log...
