Excel Format unsupported

Question

Hi,

When i export issues logged in jira into excel file and open that downloaded excel, a warning pops up states that:

The file format and extension of 'filename.xls' don't match. The file could be corrupted or unsafe.

I was trying to read the downloaded excel file from a python script but because of mismatch of file format and extension, I could not open it.

Error while opening file through script: xlrd.biffh.XLRDError: Unsupported format, or corrupt file: Expected BOF record; found b'<html xm'

Pandas uses xlrd or another engine to open the file so that won't change anything: https://pandas.pydata.org/pandas-docs/stable/reference/api/pandas.read_excel.html

Please, use the pandas and export as xls
