Recommended Bitbucket Enterprise version

Krzysztof Patyna

Hi I want to upgrade Bitbucket form 5.14 to 6.10 or 7.x. Data Center

Which BB version is currently recommended to install?

Evan Slaughter

Hey @Krzysztof Patyna,

Our latest and greatest on enterprise release recommendations can actually be found over on our Enterprise Release page, but the short of it can pretty much be summarized as:

• If your team wants to get the latest features as they come out, we always recommend moving up to the latest version where feasible.
• Otherwise, if the upgrade process for your team is too strenuous to allow continual upgrades, the listed Enterprise release (the latest iteration of 6.10 at time of writing) for Bitbucket Server will continue to get security updates/critical bug fixes throughout the tenure of its 2 years in which it is supported.

For more info, we recommend checking out that above page - but ultimately the answer is going to come from reviewing your team's usual upgrade process and deciding from there.

Hope this helps!

Thanks,

Evan Slaughter
