Confluence BaseURL from Jumphost

Hello Atlassian Support,

we have a problem with our Confluence Instance. Our Confluence Server is in secure a network. To get access from the outside (eg. our intranet, or VPN) we got a proxy running. But the proxyserver got its own ip. So the warning "Change Base-URL" is continuous popping up.

Also we had to disable the syncronity module because you could not edit article on the proxy. Confluence tried to access the baseurl which is not available from the proxyserver.

Do you have some suggenstions on how to fix these problems?

Your base url must be set to the single url that you access Confluence over. As you have a proxy server, this must be the url that the proxy is serving Confluence on.

You say "base url is not available from the proxyserver" - that means your proxy is incorrect, it is supposed to be serving the base url up.

thank you for your answer.

The problem is, we use NGINX directly on the wiki server to use port 443 (non-root port binding). So we set the server ip address as the base url. This is the access from the same network segment.

To allow access from another "insecure" network segment, a reverse proxy in a DMZ is used. Of course the ip address or the DNS entry (the name of the reverse proxy) changes.

Is it possible to store another "secure base url" or to deactivate the message?

No, you must use a single base url for Confluence, you can't have more than one.

If it's server, then yes, you can fiddle with it a bit to deactivate the message, but I wouldn't bother. Using Confluence on a secondary url fails a lot, as it will always eventually take you back to the base url.

You will need to change your setup so that Confluence is served up on a single url.
