Need to make all inactive users as read only

Hi,

Looking to make all inactive users in JiraAlign(more than 60 days) have read only access.

In Login activity page there is no such filters to select inactive user over 60 days and bulk change their permission level to read only.

Can someone suggest how to do the same

In my experience, what you are asking is not possible in the manner you mention.

Jira Align has active and deactivated users. There is no way to delete a user in Jira Align, due to data integrity. auditing, regulatory considerations. Instead of deleting users, Jira Align allows you to change them to Deactivated status (Admin -> People -> Deactivate). That removes those users from all drop downs and the People list. It preserves their work history.

In addition, there is no such role as read-only. You would need to configure such a role.

NOTE: Each user assigned to this read-only role will consume an active (paid) license, assuming the licensing rules are the same as I am used to.

What you are describing appears to be the desire to change the role of any active user who hasn't logged in for at least 60 days.If that is correct, you can do the following:

Export the People list (Administration -> People -> More Actions -> Export).
Filter on Column AI (Last Logged In) to find those who haven't logged in for at least 60 days.
Either:
- Deactivate those users (no license cost) OR
- Create a read-only role and assign those users to that role (each such user consumes an active paid license).

Is there a way to bulk deactivate or change permissions to read only...Doing manually one by one will be time consuming. Appreciate!

You can try the following method, but I'll deny every typing this:

Export all ACTIVE users (active users are shown by default)
Filter on last log in date to the date range you want
- NOTE: DO NOT ALTER THE SPREADSHEET FORMAT IN ANY WAY OR IT WILL FAIL ON IMPORT
Go to the "Active User" column (column AL in the spreadsheet, as of today)
Change the users to "Deactivated"
Now filter on all "Active" users and delete these rows (this won't delete users during an import)
Clear all filters and verify only the users you want deactivated remain
Save the spreadsheet in the original XML format
Now import the spreadsheet back into Jira Align
NOTE: I HIGHLY RECOMMEND YOU TRY THIS METHOD WITH A SINGLE TEST RECORD FIRST SO AS NOT TO WREAK HAVOC ON A BUNCH OF ACTIVE USERS.
