In the Story issue type, sub tasks created are shown in the "Sub-Tasks" field.
However, the opposite is not possible. Is there a "Parent" field in Sub-Task issue type?
Hi @Calvin Low Yan Ming
The Sub-task's parent is visualised at the top of the page.
Above the summary is the name of the project, the parent story and the sub-task's key which will look like this:
<Project> / <Parent Key> <Parent Name> / <Sub-task Key>
This provides the view of the parent.
In an issue search, the parent appears inline with the Sub-task's summary. During an export it splits into a Parent ID column - this ID matches the parent's Issue ID.
Ste
i see. Thank you for the answer.
Do you know of a way to add this Parent field in subtask during Create or Edit ?

i was told by the vendor there are two plugins Jira for Automation and Script Runner.
But no steps are given.
Not that I know of - the standard method is to "move" sub-tasks between parents, via More > Move.
You might be able to automate a move depending on a trigger - and I'd expect you can visualise the parent in a field using ScriptRunner - but not sure you can create an editable field using either of these apps.
For example this field description on Scriptrunner's wiki might be of interest.
