I am using "issueFunction in" to retrieve linked issues. I can not find the definition of "issueFunction in" written anywhere.

The issueFunction option in JQL is provided by ScriptRunner for Jira by Adaptavist is not part of Jira's default functionality. You can find their documentation here:
