Can we use Jira production core license in multiple instances

Hi There,

So far we had purchased Jira core license for 2000 licenses and using for once instance. Recently we had created one more jira instance for few more projects, can we use the same core license for this new instance also ? will it work fine as like that instance ? please let us know.

As you said, "You just can’t have two active instances with the same key" - What exactly will happen if this situation occurs? For example, in case if I copy a virtual machine running Jira on it

Can we know atleast what is the difference between production and developer license, why production key is that much sure not to use in multiple instances
