Unable to delete sprint even if I am a jira admin

Hello,

I need help on deleting a sprint.

I am a jira admin and i have manage sprint permission though i am not able to delete the sprint. the sprint is completed.

I donot get the option to delete it.

Its strange. Please help if i am missing out something.

To delete a sprint, you must be a user with the Manage Sprints permission.

I have the manage sprint permission. Is that the delete option is hidden ?

Just confirming this is how you're deleting the sprint:

Go to the Board > Reports > Sprint Report
Locate the right sprint using the left-hand drop-down menu
Using the options icon (3-dots) on the right-hand side, select "Delete sprint"

^ Is the actual option missing from this list? If yes, what options do you see?

As @Ste Wright said, you can try the steps he mentioned.

If you have sprint management rights, but still cannot delete sprints, please check whether your scrum board contains Issues for multiple projects.

If you have the above situation, you need to have management sprint permissions for multiple projects at the same time before you can delete them.

Hey,

Im also having issues deleting a sprint. My test user has product access to

- Jira Software
- Has access to the project
- Has 'Manage Sprint' permission through a Adminstrator role
- Also has the Adminstrator role assigned to the Manage Sprint permission on the Permission Scheme that this project uses.

Still can't delete a sprint. I see the comments above saying you can't delete an active sprint but as an admin I seem to be able to?

What else can I try?

I had an active sprint that had to be deleted, because we prioritized another sprint. This is what I did:

I made a new sprint with a slightly different name from the original sprint
I dragged all the issues from old sprint to new
I completed the old sprint, in order to be able to delete it
I activated the the other sprint we prioritized
now the newly made sprint (with all the issues from the old sprint) is next in line
