Personal JIRA Project similar to Personal Space in Confluence

Within my organisation we have multiple projects that people work on. It is possible to create personal Kanban boards to showing all the items assigned to a person across multiple projects.

However, I would also like to be able to add personal tasks, which are not related to any project (i.e. organise team building event). It feels a little overkill to set up a new project for each user (and these would also be visible to everyone, mixed in with the meaningful projects).

Having something similar to Confluence which has personal spaces, in JIRA where we could have personal projects sounds like what I want.

Does such a thing exist, or is it possible to have added?

It is not possible at the moment, you can upvote this feature request to show your interest: Personal Projects. In the meantime, you could use a Trello board to manage your personal to do list.

Thanks for the quick response.

The only issue with having a Trello board for the personal to do list would be duplication of the JIRA tasks that are assigned, and having to maintain state in two places.

Thanks for the link to Personal Projects. The comments in there provide one solution, which I can request from our local JIRA admins as a workaround.

You can also look at Trello connector for Jira Server: it lets you create Jira tasks from Trello and monitor Jira issues from your Trello cards.
