Make sub-task issuetype default for any issue in jira server version 8.5.1

Question

I want to make sub-task as a default issue type whenever a sub-task is created for any issue.

I read a few articles which said that rearranging the issue types will make sub-ask appear in the first place did not work for me.

Can anyone help here?

I did further research and you might be able to achieve it using Scriptrunner. The steps to configure this can be found here:

Welcome to the Atlassian Community.

It is currently not possible to set the default subtask type in Jira out of the box.
