Allow Read only rights on pages into a space

Hi,

There's a space named "A" with many pages created by 'confluence-user' group.

We want allow read only to 2-3 specific pages into this space "A" to a 'confluence-sav' group.

confluence-sav group will not be allow to modify this pages neither access , even in read only) to others pages of this space.

How to do it?

You'll need to do this in two parts - the first part is giving the group view access to the space:

1. Go to Space Tools > Permissions
2. Press Edit Permissions under groups
3. Provide 'confluence-sav' with the permission "View" under the first section

^ This gives the group access to view the space, see it in the space directory and on dashboards.

Next you'll need to change the view / edit permissions for each page or tree of pages - to do this:

1. Go to a page and press the padlock button near the top
2. Select "Editing Restricted" for a page you want the 'sav' group to see and restrict editing accordingly (per group or user)
3. Select "Editing and Viewing Restricted" for a page you don't want 'sav' to see and restrict editing and viewing accordingly (i.e for the main group to see)

Note that view permissions are inherited - this means:

• If a user cannot see a parent page, they'll be unable to see subsequent child pages, making it simple to hide trees of pages.
• However editing rights are not inherited. This means each page would need to be restricted individually - although you can get apps which can help make this inherited - such as this suggestion in another question.

My advice would be to try and group pages under a small number of parent pages, so it's easier to hide those you don't want the 'sav' group to see and simplifying the administration needed to support this.
