Elasticsearch connection broken

Question

I'm also running into the same issue but unable to see Bitbucket Homepage/setup page.

I checked the following folder /app/var/atlassian/application-data/bitbucket/log/search and there is no File: elasticsearch.pid.

When I checked the logs all I can see is below,

Can someone help me on this issue?

I fixed it by changing the JAVA_HOME variable in elasticsearch.sh (/opt/atlassian/bitbucket//elasticsearch/bin/elasticsearch.sh). Its the 3rd line in the script: export JAVA_HOME=/usr/lib/jvm//jre Restarted bitbucket and it began rebuilding the indexes. In my case the connection was refused due to elasticsearch not starting and not listening on the 7992 etc.

I am having same issue.  There is nothing in the way as far a firewall or SELinux goes.  When running elasticsearch.sh by itself it complains it cannot find $JAVA_HOME.
