How to change approver in Jira Service Desk Requests ?

Hi dear colleagues,

I am changing approvers process in Jira Service Desk, made by another person,

I wanna to change the approver, however I already checked, workflows, custom fields, scripts, and I didn't find the place where I must change the approval name!!

Do someone can help me?

Hello @Maikes the approver is a custom field that you would define which one you will use on a workflow status. So I would do the following.

Within the project go to the workflow settings and edit the workflow associated to the issue type of your issue you want to edit.

Check every status until you find the one that has the approval process applied to it.

Take note of the custom field being used there and add it to the edit screen of that issue type.

Go to the issue and change the approver.

It could also be an automation rule or perhaps an existing automation rule such as (Auto-approve standard changes) that has been updated to include a username.

Check Project Settings - Automation and check all automation rules for that persons name.

@Maikes could you share some print screens of the history tab? May be some leads to know where is this coming from or at least who is doing it.

Go to one of the issues that you need to fix and select the history tab and send a screenshot of it. I'd like to see the history records to see if that can help to identify what is happening

It cause because of the approver group is not set yet or your workflow is inactive status. Ensure, you do these, publish workflow and see.
