I am installing sudo ./atlassian-bitbucket-6.8.1-x64.bin

[root@server atlassian]# sudo ./atlassian-bitbucket-6.8.1-x64.bin

Hi,

On RHEL 7 - you may use 'yum' installer to upgrade the Git. Here is the link,

https://git-scm.com/download/linux

Check if that gives you the right Git version you want. 

Alternately, you can download the required Git from this 

https://mirrors.edge.kernel.org/pub/software/scm/git/

and compile from source. Check out readme file for more info
