Display RSS Feed from other Confluence instance

Question

I have two Confluence instances (of versions 3.4 & 3.1.2). I want to display rss feed from a confluence in the other one (with rss macro). It works (with os_username/os_password parameters) mostly but extept images - they aren't displayed (rss feed itself is ok as I can see images in IE9 - it has nice rss representation).

What can be wrong?

p.s. I'm displaying feed from v3.1.2 in 3.4

When I open RSS feed in browser where I'm logged in I do see images.

But when I open Confiluence page with rss macro in browser when I'm logged in both instances (with "remember me" option checked) I don't see images.

So it seems there's another reason.

It's because the end user is not logged in to the second Confluence instance.

When you use the RSS macro, the Confluence server is logging in to the remote Confluence server, not the user's browser.  Thus, when the user views the entries in the RSS feed, which refer to resources that are hosted back on the old Confluence server, the user is not permitted to see them.

You could try turning on anonymous access for your other Confluence server, or get users to use the "Remember Me" option when logging in to it.
