User macro that does NOT update on page refresh?

Is it possible to create a user macro that would behave similarly to substituting a template in Wikipedia, i.e. it writes the data it would render onto the page so it then becomes static?

I.e. if I insert the current date onto confluence page in a macro, it updates every time the page is loaded/refreshed. I don't want to use a template if this can be avoided.

Thank you for bringing this to us.

In general, a User Macro would be used to display dynamic content. It's of course also possible to display static content, but it depends on how you're writing the macro.

In the instance, you want to display the current date. Could you help me to understand what exactly you're trying to do that requires you to display the date using a User Macro? Is there any reason why you wouldn't be able to insert the date using the Date Macro (type // to insert)?
