Project member is not able to access JIRA

How can a user from different country/region join in a JIRA system?

Hello Kensuke,

There are certains things we will have to check first ;

1) Did you do the installation and configuration of this JIRA environment ?

2) Is this JIRA environment connected to any external user management system ? If you are the admin, you can check and verify . If not, you will have to do the connectivity.

3) Now , if you will connect this JIRA environment to the external user management system - will it be a new system , or will you be using the some already existing user management system in your organization ? I am sure you will use the existing system in your organization . The moment you connect that to JIRA - it will automatically let users access JIRA.

4) email - invitation - is your JIRA configured to use any mail server ? If not, emails invitations will not be triggered .

Thank you for your reply.

Yes the members had access to the other JIRA for other country/region.

The issue is that when I add them, they do not receive invitation from the system to join in. Instead, I sent them the weblink for the page, but they were denied to access due to the system access rights.

It sounds as they should be able to access, from your comment, but still does not in fact.

Let us know if there is anything we could do to let the members access the page?

When you shared initially that there are already members who see the following message ;

I think your JIRA environment is already connected to some external user management system.

A very famous user management system is LDAP AD ( LightWeight Directory Access Protocol Active Directory ) - administrators of an AD creates users and groups in the AD. And when JIRA is configured to connect to this AD - using certain filter parameters - users/groups are synced from AD to your JIRA environment and hence they appear in JIRA.

Now if your organization is already using an AD - and if that AD is configured to connect to JIRA, any user having access to JIRA will use the same user id and password as their organization's user id and its password.
