How to edit the group name in jira
Example :any group(Custom Group name)

It is not possible via the UI. There is a open question about that:

There is a workaround but it's only for jira server here the link :

Wow, this many years and we can't edit a group name. Sad.
Still can't change this... EXTREMELY POOR design.
And still not possible in the cloud version. Atlassian seems to have only sales and marketing people and only a few developers to not even enable such absolute simple essential functionality.
Also need this option.. Delete>recreate methodology is archaic.
Would have been an adequate Tooltip text in 2003:Please think twice before pressing the "OK"-button. It may take 20 years before you can change the name of this group.
but hey: in 02-2023 the feature is around the corner :-)
