Jira Portfolio Question

If JIRA Portfolio is used independent of JIRA for users to report on the high level Epics & initiatives is it possible to show the progress on those items ? If Yes then How ? Currently the Progress bar only shows when the epic is linked to stories in JIRA

You need to import the other issues that are being reported, using the Portfolio import function.
