JQL to SQL for status in prior month

Currently using the JQL below, but I need to get the same results in mySQL moving forward. Can anyone tell me what mySQL query I can use to obtain the same results as this JQL?

project = ABC and status was "ACTIVE" on startOfMonth(-1)
