How do you get this message? A screenshot would help.
You need to give us the basic context.
We can guess that this is a Jira question from the phrase "issue type", but beyond that, you have given us nothing. Where do you get the error, what are you doing, how are you doing it and so-on.
You need to tell us the context, unless "yes, you need to select a valid issue type" is a good enough answer.
