How do I ensure an issue gets auto-assigned to a particular person based on transition

I need to make sure

1. development lead for my project gets auto-assigned to issue when an issue is in engineering review state,

2. QA lead for my project gets auto-assigned to issue when an issue is in Ready for testing phase

Note: this set up needs to take place for all the projects in my organization and each of the projects have different development/QA leads

You can use a Post function for each transition to assign to an individual. IMO this is sort of non-scalable in a big org where developers vary.

hmmm.. the workflow we are using is shared between projects... so we assigned "role" per transition... But the members of given role will vary per project... So wondering how we can achieve this...

if you're running on Jira Server and using a third-party app is applicable for you, you might want to have a look at Jira Workflow Toolbox.
