How do I derive Land Surface Temperature (LST) from a HDF file?

Question

I recently downloaded MODIS Terra LST Hierarchical Data File (HDF) files (MOD11A1) from the NASA's Earth Data for Regional Queensland, Australia. My target is to extract the LST, Longitude, Latitude, Altitude (Elevation) and Month. The data set comprises of satellite records for years 2012 to 2014. This is my first experience going into this research. Kindly assist me on how to carry out the extraction. Thank you.

I think you probably want to ask NASA about that, not Atlassian.  Atlassian provide some of the software NASA uses, but that does not include any of the satellite data storage systems.
