Importing Jira users to crowd (Could not load database connection)

Question

I'm trying to import our Jira users into crowd. Jira is using HSQLDB and Jira is down. The jiradb database (jiradb.script and jiradb.properties) are located here:

/opt/atlassian-jira-4.3-standalone/database/jiradb

So the settings I have tried are:

Product Database URL: jdbc:hsqldb:/opt/atlassian-jira-4.3-standalone/database/

Database Driver: org.hsqldb.jdbcDriver

Username: sa

But I'm getting "Could not load database connection". Nothing in the logs, and the crowd user can reach /opt/atlassian-jira-4.3-standalone/database/jiradb so I don't think it's a file permission issue.

Jira is 4.3 (we won't upgrade Jira, we are closing Jira to only use Confluence and other systems) and Crowd is 2.3

Hi,

I'm currently experiencing the same problem as well for Confluence. Everything works fine when I'm importing JIRA users though.

I suspect it's the database driver problem, but that didn't solve my problem either.

I'm facing the same problem with Confluence. Could you please tell me how exactly u fixed this?

I didn't have any trouble when importing users from JIRA.

Well, look like the crowd user also needs write to the directory so that it could write the jiradb.log file. Problem fixed.
