Am I misunderstanding Jira/JSD's paradigm? Configuring for company

Hi there!

I'm setting up Jira/JSD company-wide, and I think I'm misunderstanding Jira's paradigm. 

I have a strong Confluence background- each team gets their own space. They can create as many pages/sections (and sub-pages/sections) as they want. 

I (wrongly?) assumed the same paradigm carried over to Jira/JSD: each team creates projects under their 'team space' (personal term to explain my assumption). 

Is there a way to accommodate this structure? Or am I just wrong lol?

You can do this.  This is what we typically see most of our clients doing.  They create one JSD Project for the IT team, a separate one for the InfoSec team and another for the Travel team, for example.  JSD has a feature called "Help Center" that makes it easy for a customer to get their request to the right place too.It essentially gives you one place to start your request, regardless of which underlying Jira Project your request needs to go to. You just start typing what you want to do and you see a list of knowledge articles and issue types that may match what you want and you start clicking from there.  

Help Center is designed to address the situation where the customer doesn't know which place to put their request. Imagine the scenario above and I am having a problem with my VPN access. It's obviously not the Travel team, but since VPN has to do with security, would I open the request in the InfoSec Project or the IT Project? Help Center is designed to guide me to the right type of request rather than expect me to know.
