How to use OAuth with impersonation with the REST API to leave a comment?

Hi Atlassian Community,

 

I am currently developing an in-house product for Jira Server and have successfully built-out OAuth authentication, and can retrieve and create new issues.

 

At the moment, I can create issues on behalf of another user by setting the reporter with the `raiseOnBehalfOf` parameter, but I cannot do the same for comments. I would like to be able to impersonate an arbitrary user by their email and leave a comment as them. How would I implement this?

Currently, it's not possible to add a comment on behalf of other user using API. We have a feature request suggesting the implementation of this ability:
